Home to You 03:50
As a bird dips her wings in the water I feel the cool on my skin And I long for yours next to mine, yes, I can feel you in the wind And I can feel you in the heat And the smell of spring on a distant street And every star that cries and each sunrise and every time I close my eyes Brings me home to you Though I know I let you go a hundred times still you never choose to leave Like a bird dip your wings in the water and come circling back to me And I can feel you in a song And in my heart youʼre right here singing along And the feeling stays when the fiddle plays and even though youʼre miles away It brings me home to you

about

"Ghost of Your Charms" explores the timeless themes of love, loss, death and tough choices through its eleven tracks, nine of which are originals. Recorded in Toronto and guided by producer Chris Stringer (Timber Timbre, Ohbijou), the new album shows off their unconventional instrumentation: frontman and lead singer John Showman drives the band as a dynamic and accomplished fiddle player; guitarist "Champagne" James Robertson is a sonic architect with a National guitar and a raft of pedals used to astonishing effect; drummer and groove-setter Roman Tome sets up a hybrid kit including a sawblade cymbal and goat hooves for shakers, along with many other surprises; and, freewheeling bassist Ben Whiteley plays an acoustic double bass, energising the band and audience alike with joyful abandon.

Reclaiming country, by bringing it back to its roots, then ripping out the root system altogether. ... more
